On the reverse, we have the historic image of a family of bald eagles. This particular design was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek for this specific use on the Gold Eagle Coins. It depicts a flock of American bald eagles, with a male flying overhead, and a female protecting their home full of hatchlings.
